The people of Lur community of Kanke LGA, had a Rendezvous with destiny, as they received His Royal Majesty, the Ngolong, Nde Jika Polit, and some core leaders in the Central Zone of Plateau State, preparatory to the foundation laying of City of Refuge FREE Vocational School project in Lur, village, Kanke.
At the august occasion were the offices of distinguished Senator Diket Plang, the honourable Chairman Kanke Local Government Area, Shikir, the honourable Member Kanke, Gokum, the District Head of Kabwir, along with other community leaders.
The Nde Ciroman Lur did the ceremonial handing over of the land document of the over 55 plots of land donated for the Free school project, for inspection, to His Royal Majesty Ngolong, Nde Jika Polit, who handed over to the Executive Director of City of Refuge – Nigeria, Nenpan Monday Amin, with his full blessings.
His Majesty called on all illustrious sons and daughters of Ngas land at home and in the diaspora, to have a stake in the project, which has the potential of removing the region from the woods, and causing paradigm shifting development for the region, in terms of entrepreneurship.
The leaders present unanimously agreed that Kanke was the most disadvantaged Local Government Area in Plateau State, and the FREE SCHOOL PROJECT was a much welcome development, as it has the massive potential to alter things radically in the region, especially in terms of curbing the wreckless phenomenon of rural-urban drift for menial jobs, dog hunting adventures etc… leading to wasting the potentials of our youths.
